Lauren Brianne Armentrout, 23, went into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded at home by family and friends on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, after a valiant fight with cancer.
She was born in Martinsburg, on Sept. 13, 1989, and was the daughter of Ann M. Armentrout, with whom she resided in Martinsburg and Montie J. Armentrout, also of Martinsburg.
She graduated from Martinsburg High School in 2008 and received her Associate of Applied Science degree from Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in May, 2011, where she remained on the Dean's List.
She was employed at Target Inc., Martinsburg, since June 2009 where she received top performer awards in 2010 and 2011. She received the Great Team Hero Award for the store and the district in June, 2010.
Lauren was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church where she was a nursery worker for the 2 and 3-year-olds. She loved children and dreamed of the day she would marry and have a family of her own. Before attending Fellowship Bible Church, she was a member of Independent Bible Church where she received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized by immersion in April, 2000.
She is preceded in death by grandparents, James F. and Louise Siler and Ernest B. Armentrout
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Van Marsceau and Pastor Everett Vocature. Interment will be held at Rosedale Cemetery
