Services for Edward E. "Jack" Deegan, 86, 870 South Grandview Ave., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Dubuque Bible Church.
Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be no visitation at Egelhof-Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St.
Mr Deegan was a salesman for the Holland Furnace Co. for 15 years in north Missouri. He moved to Dubuque and was a salesman for the Penn Life Insurance Co. for 38 years before retiring.
He was born on June 27, 1908, in Washington County, Kansas, son of Earl and Bertha Deegan. He died at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 1994, at The Finley Hospital.
He married Lelah Florence Chappell in 1940 in Kirksville, Mo.
He attended a business college for two years in Chillicothe, Mo. He entered the Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, on Nov. 7, 1943, in the A.S.F. Transportation Corp. He was a member and board member at the Dubuque Bible Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lelah Florence (Chappell) Deegan; a son, Randy Glenn (Marilyn) Deegan, of Long Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Karinne and Peter of Long Beach; and two sisters, Hazel Cruz, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dorothy Cruz, of San Diego.
An Edward E. "Jack" Deegan Memorial Fund has been established.
