According to a Hoffman descendant in (1999), Peter died from apoplexy. Peter Appears as head of household in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 US PA census records for Washington Twp., Dauphin county, with his wife Catharine (Lenker) and children. Peter's farm was in close proximity to the farmhouse in which he was born in Washington Twp, as evident from a Dauphin county map, dated 1875, which indicated his "farm" in close proximity to Christian Hoffman's farm.
Peter is buried in Salem Peace Reformed Cemetery, as indicated in their records.
