Wagenseller's Tombstone Inscriptions of Snyder County, PA, written in 1904 indicate that Jeremiah was buried in the Adamsburg Old Cemetery, Adamsburg (now referred to as Beaver Township). His grave is located in Row M21. Probate and Orphans Court Records at Lewisburg, Union County Courthouse, PA show Jeremiah, Beaver Twp., died at age 40 years leaving five minor children in 1827 between ages 14 to 21 years and one over 21: Hannah, Susannah, Leah, Henry, Marie, and Elias. Conrad Hassinger petitioned the court for guardianship of Susannah and Leah; David Hassinger for Elias.
In Centre Twp., for the year 1814 Jeremiah was taxed, noting that he was a TANNER. Jeremiah again is listed in the 1820 US PA Census for Beaver Twp., Union county: (1) male under 10, (3) females between 10-16 years, (1) male 26-45 years, (1) male over 45 years, and (1) female 26-45 years. Jeremiah left no will, but Letters of Administration were granted to his wife Elizabeth. George Hassinger, Jeremiah's brother, and George Renschler were named executors to his estate. Sureties were Joseph Walter and Ner Middleswarth.
