Howard J. "Cal" Longacre, Jr., 84, husband of Helen (Fedchak) Longacre, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at home. Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Anna (Ostafi) Longacre. Cal was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, class of 1945. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He attended Drexel Institute of Technology. He was a Customer Service Engineer for the National Cash Register Corp for 39 years, retiring in 1991. He was an active member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Phoenixville, and served on the church board. He was a member, and past President of St. Michael's Athletic Club, and was a huge fan of sports on all levels. Surviving in addition to his wife are: Daughter, Tracey wife of John Bilanin of Gilbertsville, PA; Son, H. John Longacre III and wife Samantha of Oxford, PA; 3 Grandchildren: Andrew, Andrea and Bryan; Sister, Emilie wife of Richard McQuillen of New York City. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julia A. Longacre.
