Born on May 11, 1922 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Widdoss) Post and had lived in the area most of her life, having lived in Florida for 13 years returning to the area in 2002. She had worked at National Drug in Swiftwater and at the East Stroudsburg University.
Alice was a member of the Berean Bible Fellowship Church in Stroud Township. She enjoyed sewing and most of all, her family.
She is survived by a daughter, with whom she lived, Cheryl J. Smith and her husband, Lewis of Stroud Township; two sons, Thomas Altemose and his wife, Barbara and Michael Altermose and his wife, Arlene, all of Stroud Township; five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Emma Hoffner of Mechanicsburg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Agnes Decker, Howard Post, Helen Balmoos, Ruth Decker, and Barbara Brush.
There will be a viewing on Monday, August 20, from 10:00 to 11:00AM followed by funeral services at 11:00AM in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Davis Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the Berean Bible Fellowship Church, 1028 Valley View Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
