Harold Hill was a lifelong rancher and cattleman. He grew up on a ranch in southern Brown County, Nebraska, on the shores and surrounding hills of Moon Lake. When Harold became an adult, he purchased this property from his father and lived there for the rest of his life. Harold served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On 2 Apr 1955, he married Evelyn Allen. and together, they raised a family and kept a herd of stock cattle, remaining on the ranch until old age and ill health finally forced them away. His cremains are inurned at the Ainsworth Cemetery.
