A memorial service for Lester C. Holt Jr., of Ruth, is noon Saturday, Nov. 15, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel.
Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
Mr. Holt, 57, died Nov. 11, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Attala County on Jan. 23, 1951, to Lester C. Holt Sr. and Sybil Cook Holt.
He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg on Jan. 3, 2008, after 31 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello. He was an avid sportsman and a member of the Panola Hunting Club.
Preceding him in death were his mother; and his grandparents.
Survivors are his father, Lester C. Holt Sr. and his stepmother, Polly O'Keefe Holt, of Ridgeland; a son, Christopher Aaron Holt, of Vicksburg; a daughter, Brandi Renee Chalk and husband, Brad, of Byram; a sister, Sherri H. Kyzar and husband, Glenn, of Ruth; his nephews, Justin H. Kyzar, of Ruth, and Jason G. Kyzar and wife, Jessica; and a great-niece, Kaitlyn, of Brookhaven; and his beloved canines, Rob, Rowdy and Roxie.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of America, 140 North Fifth Street, McComb MS 39648; the American Cancer Society; and the New Hope Baptist Church building fund.
