FERRIDAY — Memorial services for Alex Adams Jr., of Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall with the Bro. Curtis Riggs officiating.

Mr. Adams was born Feb. 12, 1937, in Bude, the son of Rosilee Adams and Alex Adams Sr.

He graduated from Sevier High School in 1954, earned an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force in 1957, graduated from Grambling College in 1961 and earned a Master's degree from California State Polytechnic College in 1970.

Mr. Adams taught school at Ferriday Junior High and at the High School in San Francisco, Calif. He retired from the State of California Department of Corrections as a Chief Administrator in 1999. He relocated back to Ferriday in 2001 where he continued to work and study with Jehovah's Witnesses until he passed away.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Saul Adams and L. C. Adams; and sister, Bertha Jackson.

Survivors include his former wife, Dorothy Adams; son, Cedric Adams; daughter, Steffanee Morgan and husband, Nath; grandchildren, Darnell, Derek, Ashley and Anthony, all of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; sister, Andrean Robbins and husband, Willie, of Flint, Mich.; brothers, Jimmie Adams of Ferriday and Freddie Adams of Los Angeles; uncle, Lee Walker and wife, Ola Mae, of Sacramento, Calif.; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a dear, devoted friend, Andrew Irving of Ferriday.
