Willie Faye Burrus of O'Donnell departed this life on February 26, 2013, at the age of 93 years. She was born in Nolan County, Texas on September 19, 1919 to L.D. and Jessie Elinor (Estes) Monroe. Willie married Dee George Burrus on August 31, 1941 in Granbury, Texas. They raised their family in Borden County. Willie was a member of Mesquite Baptist Church which was disbanded.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jeanna Love of Lamesa; Sons, Bobby Glen Burrus of Miles, TX and Tommy Lee Burrus of Bronco, TX; six grandchildren, Janna Love, Doug Love, Sally Doherty, Dean Burrus Gera Brunner and Clint Burrus; twelve great-grandchildren, Sally Doherty, Will Doherty, Meredith Doherty, Grandon Burrus, Grace Burrus, Doc Brunner, Dee Brunner, Sunny Brunner, George Love, Samuel Love, Charlie Burrus and Evie Burrus; sisters, Jessie Lou McReynolds of Sweetwater, Minnie Ruth MacCloud of New Orleans, LA, LaNelle Cogdell of San Angelo, Yvonne Lister of Blum, TX, Annette LeCompte of Hitchcock, TX; brother, J.B. Monroe of Blackwell, TX.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dee George; two brothers ,one sister, and one grandchild, John Willy Burrus.
