Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Roy Alleman, age 77, who passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Gary Schexnayder pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Crowley will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be I Will Go See You One Day, Amazing Grace, On Eagle's Wings, Precious Lord Take My Hand, The Old Rugged Cross and Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Mr. Alleman was a native of Sunset and a resident of Carencro for most of his life. He was a retired building contractor and electrician. Mr. Alleman was a veteran in the military having served in the U.S. Army during the Korea War. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro and was a member of the Bonne Mort Society.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, the former Sis Schexnayder of Carencro; one son, Kirk Alleman and his fiancée, Iris Badon of Carencro; three daughters, Kim A. Harper and her husband, Earl, Kelly A. Trahan and her husband, Michell and Karen Alleman all of Carencro; 13 grandchildren, Cory Harper, Ryan Harper, Lauren Vincent, Jeremy Guidry, Chad Guidry, Kylie Guidry, Kaysha Cripps, Derrick Alleman, Dustin Alleman, Jordan Alleman, Jessica Viator, Jamie Alleman and Joanie Alleman; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Elvie Boudreaux of Sunset, Noeli Prejean of Youngsville and Mary Jane Potier of Sunset.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Katrina Alleman Cobb; and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lester Alleman, mother the former Felicia Savoie.

Pallbearers will be Cory Harper, Ryn Harper, Jeremy Guidry, Chad Guidry, Derrick Alleman, Dustin Alleman and Jordan Alleman.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
