From The Kansas City Kansan Thursday, June 18, 1959 Two Bodies Recovered In Rivers
The bodies of two men were found this morning, one in the Kaw and one in the Missouri river. Firemen reported that a social security card on the body of one man, found lodged against a barge in the Kaw a short distance above its confluence with the Missouri, identified him as Charles Cash, about 55, of 3409 Barnett.
Sheriff's officials said the body of the other man, found in the Missouri near 48th, was tentatively identified as Robert Lee Connor, 27, 2511 Alden. Connor had gone swimming Tuesday, according to a nearby resident. Identification was determined thru a billfold and Connor's car, left near the bank of the river.

Robert L. Connor, 27, of 2511 Alden, drowned June 16 while swimming in the Missouri river.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. Connor II, 1735 Cleveland; his stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Jones, the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Flora George, and a sister, Miss Wanda Connor, all of the home; two other sisters, Mrs. Lucille DelPercio, 6333 Rowland, and Mrs. Virginia Pace, 1525 Rowland; a brother, Donald Ralph Connor, _119 S. 38th; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Catherine Connor, Lakewood, Calif.
