Services for Mrs. Etta L. Bettes, 94, of Norman, were held July 13th 1988, at the Primrose Chapel. Burial was in the Blackburn Cemetery. Etta was born on Christmas Day 1893 in Wayne Co, MO. She came to Norman in a covered wagon at the age of 3 with her parents, William Henry and Elizabeth (Johns) White, she has lived in Norman ever since. She married Lee W. Bettes Sr., Sep 10th 1917, at Guthrie, OK. Survivors include one son, Gene Bettes; two daus., and sons-in-law, Helen & Paul Copeland, of Norman, and Lucille and Sam Oxner of Marionna, AR. One sister-in-law, Josie Bettes Smith; daughter-in-law, Wilma Tomlinson Bettes, of Pauls Valley, OK; 6 grandchildren & 7 great-gdchildren, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband,in 1981 and one son, Lee W. Bettes Jr., in 1984.
