Jeffrey Todd "Jeff" Black, 41, of Bloomington, passed away at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 26, 2015) at his residence.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with military rites accorded by Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to his children's education fund. Jeff was born March 14, 1974, in Bloomington, the son of David and Barb Bicknell. He first married Missy Backlund, later divorcing. He married Jessica J. Burrell on Jan. 2, 2012, in Normal. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents, David and Barb Bicknell, Bloomington; four children, Dakota Black, Austin Black, Nicholas Burrell and April Black, all of Bloomington; maternal grandmother, Araminta Williamson, Bloomington; one brother, David C. (Dianna) Bicknell, Georgia; mother- and father-in-law, Rose and Tony Burrell, Bloomington; and nieces and nephews.
Jeff served in the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver for several over-the-road companies, most recently CPC Logistics, Bloomington. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He loved his children more than anything.
