I was told that in the late 1930's he left his wife, Effie Ola Anders and the 4 boys in Rochelle,Texas to go to the coast for a life of fishing. He had a passion for fishing and boats. He slept on the beach until he started working on a shrimp boat were he slept on the deck of the boat he worked on. Fishing was Bill's passion. He worked on tugboats and owned and captained his own fishing boat. I believe he used his boat for a charter fishing trips.
He married Elizabeth C Flautt in 1940. Elizabeth died in 1984.
