Alexander Hamilton Adams was the son of John and Mary Ann Wolf Adams. He was born in Baxter County but after he married Mary Sarena Kellough, daughter of John Kellough and Hanna Ramsey Adams he lived in Izard County. Before the Civil War he was the Sheriff of Izard County. He was the father of nine children.
His gravesite may be unmarked. His parents are both buried in the Old Wolf Cemetery near Norfork, AR.

the North Fork River in 1819. The Adams and Wolf families intermarried, with
lots of double first cousins. He served as Izard County Surveyor 1835-36 and as
Sheriff from 1858-60 and enlisted in the 14th Arkansas Infantry, C.S.A. He, his
brother, and Wolf cousins established the Adams Lodge #164, Free & Accepted
Masons, in 1864 at Norfork. His political experience at the state level included
the 1864 Confederate General Assembly in the Senate, representing Izard and
Van Buren Counties, and in the 1868 Constitutional Convention. He was buried at
Lunenburg Cemetery, Lunenburg, Izard County, Arkansas.
