Ralph Arthur Buswell and Jennie Rose Zebarth were married 21 October 1919 in Sioux Falls, Minnehaha, South Dakota. During their early married life they lived near Harrisburg, Lincoln, South Dakota. In 1929 they immigrated to Canada and lived on a farm in Amisk, Alberta. In 1949 they moved to the Whitemud area of South Edmonton, the area now known as Riverbend, just above Rainbow Valley Ski Hill.
