Obituary from The Tryon Star, 6 Jan 1910.

"We were sorry to learn of the death of H. H. Dewey of Carney, which occurred last Friday night. He was buried in the cemetery on the Seelig farm which Mr. Dewey's family own. Their many friends extend their sympathy."

The 1900 census for Homer Dewey shows that he was born in NY in 1847, and that his home was in Cimarron, Lincoln, OK. His wife was Rosa H. Dewey, born in Iowa in 1856, and their only child on that census was Linnett L. Dewey, aged 7.

Mr. Dewey is of historical significance because for many years this cemetery was known by his name as "Dewey Cemetery." It was later known as the Seelig Cemetery, named for the man who owned the property after Homer Dewey. Only in its third avatar has it come to be called Pollick.

According to the Chandler Publicist for 27 September 1901 he was the administrator for the estate of David Kinder, also buried in this cemetery.
