Bob was my Uncle. I always admired him. He was a very dashing gentleman. Bob was the son of Claude and Gertrude Darnell Loflin. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He married Doris Arlene Kunce in Shelbina Mo. on June 2, 1945. Arlene passed away Sept.21,2016. Also surviving are three children, Karen, Claudia, and Steven Loflin. One brother, James D. Loflin of Georgetown Tx, and one sister, Dorothy Howard, of Shelbina, Mo. also survive. Also surviving is a daughter, Joan Kay Dickerson, from a previous marriage to Frances Dickerson.
Bob was retired from the Air Force, serving 22 years in WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. After retirement, he was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a member of the Shelbina American legion Post 376.
Bob died of heart issues due to smoking and drinking.
