Death Calls Mrs. Allen

The people of our little city were grieved and pained to hear yesterday of the death of Mrs. Alice E. Allen, wife of F. D. Allen, which occurred in St. Helen’s Sanitarium Tuesday evening.
Alice E. North was born in El Paso, Ill., Feb. 19, 1865 and was married to F.D. Allen November 20, 1899. They came to California in 1906, going first to Santa Clara. Since August 1910 they have made their home in Orland, where the deceased made many close friends who will mourn her death, which was not unexpected. She had been ill since July with complications of diseases which baffled her physicians. Three weeks ago she was taken to St. Helena’s Sanitarium in the hope of benefitting her condition, but the aid of the most skillful Physicians failed. Since girlhood Mrs. Allen had been a devoted member of the Baptist Church. She had no children but was a mother to four step children. Funeral services will be held in the Baptist Church this afternoon at 1:30 o’clock and burial will follow in the Orland cemetery.
