Plain. A number of relatives and friends in this vicinity attended the funeral of Christina Blau last Saturday.
Obituary-Blau. Christina Blau, daughter of Mrs. M. B. Blau, died at her home in Spring Green at 4 o'clock on Thursday morning, March 30th, 1916, a brief notice of which was made in the HOME NEWS of that date.
Deceased was born in Spring Green on May 22d, 1899, and was almost seventeen years old at the time of her death. About six years ago she suffered a severe attack of the malady - Bright's disease - which finally caused her death, but again apparently regained her health and attended to her studies until she finished the first half of the Junior year in the high school, about the last week in January, after which she was confined to her home most of the time. She knew that her time was short in her earthly home and was prepared for the change we call death, supported by a faith in a glorious future. So, when a number of her young companions called to see her on the evening before her departure, she took each by the hand, bade them a tender farewell, and with calm submission awaited the final hour. In the passing of Babe Blau the entire community mourns as one family. She was a bright, lighthearted girl, always cheerful, a good student and a wonderful aid in all the functions, musical and otherwise, pertaining to the school. The funeral was held in St. John's church on Saturday, April 1st, at 10 o'clock a. m., the officiating clergymen being the pastor, Rev. Fr. Brudermanns, Rev. Fr. Pesch of Plain and Rev. Fr. Tausl of Muscoda. The teachers and pupils of the school to the number of about seventy acted as an escort from the home to the church. The burial was made in St. John's cemetery here, where lie the remains of her father, the late M. B. Blau, whose death occurred when the subject of this sketch was but a year old. Deceased is survived by her mother and one sister, Miss Clara Blau, and many relatives.
A Card. Mrs. Blau and daughter request the HOME NEWS to state that their gratitude for the sympathy expressed by word and deeds of the entire community is felt beyond expression.
