Daniel was a 6th grade student at Creedmoor Elementary. He enjoyed sports and was a member of the Chess Club and Choir at school. Daniel always made AB Honor Roll. Most of all, he enjoyed helping others. Daniel will now be a Guardian Angel to the family and friends that have loved and cared for him. Daniel was a loving and caring person to everyone. He was smart and knew how to make you laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Steve Castro, of Austin and Patty Rodriguez Castro, of Creedmoor; and his little brother, Jose Angel Castro. He leaves one aunt, Letty Molina and husband Vinnie; two uncles, Javier Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez; four very special cousins, Veronica Evette, Vinnie Molina, Jr., Destiny and Manuel, Jr. Also surviving Daniel are his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Felipa Castro; maternal grandparents, Javier and Dorothy Rodriguez; great-grandparents, Mary Davenport, Jose Pompa, Manuel Ramon and Adelina Rodriguez, Emilia G. Castro and Sipriana Rodriguez; Godparents, Mike and Nina Cardenas; and a host of extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly.

Daniel will be in state Sunday, December 31 from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM on Monday, January 1, 2007 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, TX with the Holy Mass of Angels to be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 2, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Austin.

Pallbearers will be Javier Rodriguez, Javier Rodriguez, Jr., Manuel Rodriguez, Dan Castro, Vinnie Molina, Mike Cardenas and Benjamin Fabian.
