Mrs. Baumgartner was employed for 25 years at Franklin Electric Co., retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Bluffton Chapel, formerly the Church of Christ in Christian Union.
She was born in Wells County Oct. 30, 1935 to Clarence and Flossie Ramsey (Holmes) Kahn. Her former husband and the father of the family's children, Leroy V. Baumgartner, survives.
Additional survivors are four sons, Roy L., Steven R. and Donald L., all of Bluffton, and Richard W. of Warren; one daughter, Victoria L. Baumgartner of Bluffton; 18 grandchildren, including Chastity K. Baumgartner McFarren, who was raised in the decedent's home; and 22 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Brenda S. Baumgartner, and a brother, Robert "Strawberry" Kahn.
Also surviving are four brothers, Clarence "Catfish" Kahn and Virgil Kahn, both of Columbia City, and Lester and Earl Kahn, both of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Hilda) Baumgartner and Mrs. Gerald (Rose) King, both of Bluffton.
