Clisby enlisted in the 26th Tenn. Inf. Co. F Confederate States Army, in Knoxville Tenn on July 12 1861. Escaped from Fort Donelson April 1862, probably with the help of Gen. NB Forrest's Cavalry. Died of wounds in Murfreesboro Tenn. on Jan. 7 1863. First buried in the Old Confederate Cemetery, then moved to Confederate Circle in Evergreen Cemetery and along with over 2000 others buried as unknown.
