MOTHER TO HELEN,WINSTON,PAULINE,PHYLLIS,WILLIAM,JACKIE ANS BEVERLY
Trenton, Mo., Avis Marie Constable, daughter of Henry and Bertha Kelley, was born near Mercer, April 4,1909 and passed away Friday, April 4, 1997 at the Eastview Manor Care Center on her 88th birthday.
She was raised in Mercer County and lived most of her life in the Mercer and Princeton communities, where she worked as a practical nurse at the Axtell Hospital in Princeton for 20 years. She had been a resident of the Eastview Manor Care Center since September 1990. She was a member of the Modena Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage to Garland Constable Aug. 20, 1927. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 1986.
Mrs. Constable is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Zimmerman, Trenton, Beverly Radcliff, Gait., Mo., and Paula Yeamans, Yuma, Ariz.; two sons, Jack Constable, Platte Woods, Mo., and Winton Constable, St. Joseph, Mo.; one brother, Gaylerd Kelley, St. Joseph; one sister, Jackie Gallemore, Springhill, Fla.; and by her 27 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Helen Camp; one son, William Constable; four brothers, Olin, Marcus, Fritz and Arley Kelley; and by four sisters, Annie Scott, Opa Delameter, Arlene Ross and Ruth Wilson.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 7 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel, Princeton, with Rev Leland Heriford officiating. Burial was in the Fairley Cemetery north of Princeton
