Funeral services for Chris Norris Alexander III, 44 of Tahlequah will be held Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. in the Reed-Culver Home Chapel with Chaplin Dwayne Tinker officiating. Burial will follow in Tahlequah City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be members of The Tahlequah Police Department; Rick Blair, Brian Anderson, Mitchell Craig, Kenny Jones, Mike Dawes and Barry Clay. Honor guard will be the Tahlequah Police Department , Broken Arrow Police Department, Tulsa Police Department and Coweta Police Department.
He was born Feb. 27, 1947 in Pryor to Chris and Joyce (McDaris) Alexander II and died Wednesday, July 10 in a Tulsa hospital.
He attended Tulsa East Central High School. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1966. After his discharge from the Navy, he moved to San Diego, Calif.
Alexander moved to Tahlequah in 1976 and went to work for the Tahlequah City Police Department. He had also attended Northeastern State University.
Alexander had worked with the Cops and Kids program and was a member of the Tahlequah Special Operation Team. At the time of his death he was a detective with the police department.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Ann of the home; four daughters; Chantelle, Kimberly, Christy and April; three stepdaughters, Shannon, Stephanie and Christie; his mother, Joyce Reynolds of Claremore; a grandson, Samuel Joseph Wright; and two sisters, Cathy Morris of Tulsa and Pam Rubottom of Collinsville.
