A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas for Karl Abbuehl, 93, who died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at his home in Washougal.
Mr. Abbuehl was born Nov. 20, 1906, in Switzerland.
He came to the United States in 1929, and worked in Wisconsin for seven years before moving to Vancouver where he worked for Henry Huber and Elmer Rufner farming.
He moved to Washougal and went to work for Walter Herzog in 1938, where he met his wife, Ethel. They married in 1940 and moved to Mount Pleasant, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
His wife died in 1978. Survivors include one sister, Martha Borter of Salt Lake City; one stepdaughter, Virginia Alexander of Washougal; and seven step granchildren.
Burial will follow the funeral service in Washougal Memorial Cemetery. The casket will be open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Straub's Funeral Home.
