Gary L. Downs
BURRTON - Gary L. Downs, 58, died December 22, 2011, at his home in Burrton. He was born February 10, 1953, in Wichita, the son of Bill and Florence Dodd Downs. A graduate of North High High School, Wichita, he had worked for Cessna for 32 years. He had also worked for the Burrton Police Department.
He was a member of the Burrton United Methodist Church and had volunteered for the Burrton Fire Department and Ambulance Department.
On March 6, 1971, he married Joyce Green in Haysville. She died July 17, 2006. Survivors include: two sons, Stuart (Lissa), Wichita, and Nick (Sherry), Austell, Ga; three brothers, Ronnie Downs, Wichita, Mick Downs, Wichita, and David Downs, Andover; four grandchildren, Dylan Reese, Jamie Downs, MaKayla Downs, and Caylee Downs; and his mother-in-law, Irma Mahoney, Burrton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
