Esther "Sis" Arbogast , 89, of Miller, S.D., died Thursday, July 11, 2002.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 15 at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller with the Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Miller.
Casketbearers were Neil Yost, Dale Resel, Doug Allerdings, David Lanz, Alan DuBois and Jason McGough. Reck Funeral Home, Miller, was in charge of arrangements.
Esther Laura Campbell was born November 22, 1912 in Miller to George and Laura (Yost) Campbell.
On June 13, 1934, she married Chester Arbogast. To this union three children were born. They had a boy and two girls and raised a third girl from the age of three.
They lived in Hand County until 1962, when they moved to Pierre. Her husband died in 1995 and she moved back to Miller in 1996.
She worked all her life in the restaurant business as either a cook or waitress.
Survivors include three daughters, Roberta Colbath of Watertown, Betty Allerdings of Gregory and Gloria (Dan) McGough of Black Hawk; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; a granddaughter, Dawn; two brothers, Marion and Francis; and two sons-in-law, Arne Colbath and Eck Allerdings.
