Sterling Hyram Adair
May 2, 1913 - Sept. 16, 1998

Sterling Hyram Adair was born May 2, 1913 in Little Elm, Texas and passed away Sept. 16, 1998 in Waxahachie. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Maypearl. In his early life, he was a farmer and rancher. He worked as a pipeline construction foreman and also a surveyor for the State of Oklahoma. He was an outdoorsman and an avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Morgan Adair Lawrence and Parents, James Patterson Adair Sr and Lela Powell Wicker Adair; ; son, Thomas Hyram Adair; sisters, Dorothy Mae Adair Farrar, Frances Cecille Adair Donlon and Leon Adair Nichols; brothers, James Conde Adair, Jack Adair and James Patterson Adair Jr. He is survived by his ex-wife, Lexie Thomas Adair of Dallas; daughter, Martha Jane Ellis of Maypearl; son, John Adair of Dallas; grandchildren, Jo Lynne Shepard of Boise, Idaho and Morgan Ellis of Maypearl; 3 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 1998 in Restland Memorial Park with Mr. Ronnie Wiggins and Mr. James Beam officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Restland Funeral Home on Greenville Ave., one-half mile north of LBJ in Dallas, 238-7111.
