Former mother-in-law of famed actor comedian Jack Oakie. Her daughter was showgirl/dancer/actress Venita Vardon who was twice married to Mr. Oakie. During and after both divorces, Mrs. Kemper remained on good terms with her son-in-law. At the time of Miss Vardon's death, Mrs. Kemper was a caretaker of Oakie's Northridge ranch.
