Mrs. Eva Hawkins Adams, 84 of Winona, died of heart failure Sunday, April 5, 1998, at Grenada Lake Medical Center.
Mrs. Adams, a homemaker, was the widow of the late William Clifford Adams and was a member of Scotland Baptist Church near Winona. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hawkins and was also preceded in death by three sons, Percy Synott Adams, Jernice Adams and David Adams.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Oliver Chapel with the Rev. Frank Samples officiating assisted by the Rev. Thomas Wicker. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery near Winona.
Mrs. Adams is survived by two daughters, Frances Jones of Winona, Kaye Watson of Sallis; two sons, Darnell Adams of Greenville, Kenny Adams of Grenada; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenny Burden, David Watson III, Mike Jones, Larry Jones, Ed Melton, and Reggie Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers were Wilburn Hawkins, Wayne Adams, and Jimmy Hawkins.
Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
