| Birth: | May 14, 1959 Lawton Comanche County Oklahoma, USA | | Death: | Feb. 13, 2013 Tampa Hillsborough County Florida, USA | Professional Football Player. For eight seasons (1981 to 1988), he played at the defensive back position in the National Football League with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts. Born John Stephanie Holt, he attended Enid High School in Oklahoma and went onto West Texas A&M where he became a four-year letterman. Selected by Tampa Bay during the 4th-round of the 1981 NFL Draft, he appeared in 109 regular season games. Holt's greatest asset was perhaps his speed utilization on punt returns during the course of his career. While a rookie in 1981, he recorded a 11.1 return average. In 1983, he yielded a career-high 3 interceptions while with the Buccaneers. After retiring from football, he worked in the private sector. (bio by: C.S.)
