Age 34. Acord had resided in the Sparks area most of his life after coming to Oklahoma with his parents at the age of five. All of these years he had lived with and helped support his mother and father. Cause of death: Killed in a car-truck head-on crash 1-1/2 mi N of Meeker, OK on SH 18. Truck driver, Earl Strain, Sapulpa, OK was seriously injured in the wreck, and his wife, Loraine Frances Strain, 31, was also killed; Survivors include his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Acord; two brothers, Carroll and Lee, all of Sparks, OK; five sisters, Mrs. M.J. Dillon of Linden, CA, Mrs. Tom Casteel, Sparks, Mrs. Emery Campbell of McClave, CO, Mrs. John Patterson of Chandler, and Mrs. Lawrence Cox of Beloit,KS. One brother, John preceded him in death in 1954, meeting his death in a car wreck on SH 18 also.
