Funeral services for Mildred May O'Field, 77 of Rose, OK will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2009 at Kansas First Baptist Church with Pastor David Pifer officiating. Burial will follow at Welch Prairie Cemetery in Rose. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Pryor.
Mildred was born December 6, 1931 in Leach, OK to Martin and Etta (Denwalt) Panick. She died October 15, 2009 in Jay, OK. Mildred grew up in the Leach Community. She married James O'Field on December 6, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK. The couple lived in Oklahoma City for 25 years before moving back to Delaware County. Mildred was a homemaker who took excellent care of her family. She was always very active in the church that James was pasturing, including teaching Sunday school and Children's church. Mildred enjoyed crocheting and reading. Mildred was a member of the Tyio Baptist Church in Colcord.
She is survived by 3 sons, James O'Field and wife Irene of Jay, OK, Michael O'Field and wife Brenda of Rocky Ford, OK, and Thomas O'Field and wife Norma of Kenwood; 4 daughters, Hazel Harrington and husband Gene of Rose, OK, Norma Pifer and husband David of Cleora, OK, Diana Thompson and husband Cody of Stillwell, OK and Maggie Sameri of Oklahoma City, OK; 45 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Jacob Squire, Thomas Squire, Leon Squire, Clifford Squire and Lawrence Squire; 1 sister, Loretta Mayhew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pastor James O'Field in 2004; 3 sisters and 1 great grandson.
Family will be greeting friends from 6-8 PM Sunday evening at Key Funeral Home of Pryor.
