He attended the Indian Trails High School in Union County, North Carolina for eleven years. He then served in the Korean Conflict and was Honorably Discharged in 1955.
Arnold married Sonoe Iwasaki in Tokyo, Japan on august 23, 1955. He retired from Liberty Glass Company where he had worked as a mold maker.
Preceding Arnold in death were his father and mother, a sister, Lucille Baumgardner and a brother-in-law, Donald Sides.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife; two sons; two daughters-in-law; sister; and grandsons/spouses.
