Mary Jane (Moore) Barnes was born Oct. 17, 1874 in Montague County, Texas.

She was married to William Carroll Barnes and had four sons and two daughters.

Mary died March 1, 1960 at the age of 85, at Ardmore, Oklahoma.

She was survived by three sons, Ira Martin Barnes, William C. "Bill" Barnes and Dempsey Baxter "D. B." Barnes; two daughters, Myrtle (Barnes) Blankenship and Iola (Barnes) Blankenship; 23 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Mary was proceeded in death by her husband; son, Jessie Andrew Barnes; and her parents.

Services were at Primitive Baptist Church at Wilson, Oklahoma with burial at Simon Cemetery.

Note: There is a newspaper clipping of Mary's obituary that incorrectly says that her husband was J. W. Barnes and that he was buried in Simon Cemetery.
This is some kind of mix up when the obituary was written according to some of the family of William Carroll Barnes and Mary Jane Barnes.
