The Frederick Leader (Frederick, Oklahoma). Friday, January 20, 1911. Pg. 6.
At 10:30 o'clock p. m. Monday night, January 9, W. M. Willard passd away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. C. Pinson, two and one-half miles southwest of Loveland.

Mr. Willard had been suffering from a cancer on his right arm for some time, and during the last few weeks he was treated by Dr. Beach, a local physician. He came to town last Thursday for treatment, but did not seem to be in any serious danger at that time. After returning home, he got very ill and fell three times before his relatives could get him to bed. Thursday night he seemed to be in his normal state, but when found Friday morning, he had already got up and left his room and gone into the dugout where he was found unconscious. He never regained consciousness again, only or a few minutes at a time. He suffered great pain till the last half hour of his life, when his pain seemed to leave, and death came peacefully.

He was 77 years of age and had been in this neighborhood for over two years. He was the father of several children, all of whom are dead but two, a son, George Willard, and a daughter, Mrs. S. C. Pinson. His son, who is in Tennessee, was notified of his condition, but was unable to get here.

His remains were buried Tuesday afternoon in the Loveland cemetery.
