She was born Dec. 16, 1904 at Barber, Okla., Indian Territory, the daughter of Charley and Addie Hooper Bearpaw.
Nancy grew up in the Barber Community and later moved to Locust Grove where she lived until Nov. 1961, when she moved to Tahlequah. She was a homemaker, an original enrollee of the Dawes Commission Roll and was a member of the Little Rock First Indian Baptist Church near Locust Grove.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Schell.
She is survived by three daughters, Mae Jean Kitchen of Locust Grove, Louella Pritchett of Welling, and Evelyn Cherino of Albuquerque, NM, a son, George Bear of Tahlequah; a brother, John Bearpaw of Stilwell; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
