Noble Alfred Baker was born August 23, 1863 in Brant, Erie County, New York and died May 7, 1899 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois at his sister's house at 1406 N Edward Street Decatur, IL at 2:25 p.m.

His sister, Flora, married Dr. Howard Wood who cared for Noble. Cause of death: Influenza - La grippe Heart disease and kidney disease.

Noble married Elsie Elizabeth Phelps on September 29, 1884.

Mr. and Mrs. Noble Baker of Lamont suffered the loss of two small children by illness.

Obituary taken from Decatur Daily News May 9, 1899

Noble A. Baker until recently associated with his brother, Hugh S. Baker in the dairy business died Sunday May 7,1899 at 2:40 p. m. after an illness of three months. He was born in Brant, Erie County, N.Y. Aug 23,1863. Mr Baker was first taken with an attack of grip. He returned to soon to his work and suffer a relapse after which complications arose rendering recovery impossible.

He leaves a wife and five children the oldest a daughter of 11 years also a mother, Mrs. E. E. Baker, three brothers, George T., Hugh S. and Fran C. Baker and one sister Mrs Flora E. Wood. The body will be taken to Strawberry Point, Ia for interment. His entire family accompanied by hiis brother Frank C. Baker and brother in law Richard Phelps left for Iowa at 5:46 yesterday afternoon by way of Illinois Central,. Although a resident of Decatur but four years Mr. Baker by reason of his honesty, integrity and general uprightness had made many warm personal friends who together with his family and relatives will mourn their loss.

Mr. Baker carried $1,000 life insurance in the John Hancock company.
