Rural Phillipsburg resident, Edith Ann "Edie" Hopson, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE at the age of 55. She was born in Holdrege, NE on Oct. 22, 1956 to Glen & Pearl (White) Bantam. Edie was a homemaker and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Clark, of the home; sons, John and Neil Hopson, and daughter, Amy Johnson, all of Phillipsburg, KS; sisters, Phyllis Bosley of Great Bend, KS, Nadine Condello of Lincoln, NE, Lela Fidler of North Platte, NE and Merry Jessup of Logan, KS; brothers, Ernie Bantam of Spearfish, SD, Tony Bantam of Woodbine, IA, Douglas Bantam of Lincoln, NE and Eddie Bantam of Dalhart, TX; sister-in-law, Jan Bantam of Oxford, NE; and 4 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Phillipsburg, with Pastor LeRoy Herder officiating. Burial will follow in the Iowa Union Cemetery, Phillips County.
Visitation will be Wed. from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Thurs. from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with the family receiving friends Thurs. evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the First Christian Church
