Obituary – Western Herald September 29, 1904, p. 4

W.B. Gee Died at his home a few miles north of Hanston, Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. He was taken sick Friday night, but being alone could do nothing. He managed to crawl to the window Saturday forenoon and motion to Web Faulkner, as he was passing, and the neighbors were notified, and Dr. Bowie and a Burdett doctor were sent for, but nothing could be done. His sickness was caused by poison in the stomach, and this was probably the result of eating some kind of sausage.

He had been in good health, and was in Jetmore and attended the convention on Tuesday. The funeral was held at his house Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Romine. He was buried in the cemetery near his place.

Wm. B. Gee was born in Fulton, Co., Ill., Aug. 19, 1849. He lived there until the spring of 1885 when he moved to Hodgeman County where he has lived until he was called to his Heavenly home, Sabbath morning at 10 o'clock Sept. 25th, 1904, aged 55 years, 1 month, 6 days. He joined the Free Will Baptist about 30 years ago, and has been a faithful soldier of the Cross ever since. He said "I have no fear of death, I am ready to go."

He leaves three sisters and two half brothers to mourn his loss. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bolon and Mrs. Phoebe Wheeler lives at Prairie City, Ill., the other sister Mrs. Sarah Bivins lives in Oberlin, Kansas. His oldest half brother, Daniel Cooper, lives in Rich Hill Mo., and his other half brother, Joseph Abbott has lived near him until his death.
