He came to America with is parents at the age of 3 years. Settling in Michigan, later coming to this area at the age of 7, remaining in this area the remainder of his life, spending most of his life farming, also serving as Wadena County Deputy Sheriff for 20 years.
In 1917 he was united in marriage to Allie Dickerson, and to this union 8 sons and 4 daughters were born. One infant son, Harold, preceding him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Allie, 7 sons, James and Roger of Menahga, John of Minneapolis, Reuben of Kindred, N.D., Edward of Niehart, Mont., Frank of White Sulpher Springs, Mont, Max serving in the U.S. Navy, who at the present is assigned to the Aircraft Carrier USS Siboney; 4 daughters, Mrs. Bernard Harless, El Cerito, California; Mrs. E.B. Morris, Mrs. Royce Harman and Rachel, all of Richmond, California. Also 16 grandchildren, many distant relatives and a host of friends.
