AITKIN — Dennis A. Miller, 61, of Aitkin, died March 26, 2012, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born July 8, 1950, in Aitkin to Arnold and Mildred (Hanson) Miller. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Dennis was united in marriage to Patti Kohout on Oct. 23, 1971, in McGregor. He worked for N.W. Gas in Aitkin and CAP Gas in Kettle River. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, smoking meats, wood working and collecting and polishing agates. He was a member of the Aitkin American Legion Lee Post No. 86.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Patti; daughter and son-in-law, Heather (Scott) Bender, of Baxter; son, Cory Miller, of Duluth; brother, Kevin Miller, of Aitkin; two sisters, Sue Radke and Tammy Speldrich, both of Aitkin; his golden retriever Noel; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Mildred (Hanson) Miller; and his brother-in-law, LeRoy Radke.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at Westside Calvary Baptist Church in Aitkin. Ken Burg will officiate. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Sorenson-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Military honors by Aitkin American Legion Lee Post No. 86 and Aitkin VFW Roberts-Glad Post No. 1727.
