Albert "Beans" Alberico, 96, of Chico, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, in Chico.

On July 31, 2013, after a short illness Albert "Beans" Alberico Peacefully left his loving wife Lily of 73 years of Chico, three sons, Daryl of Willows, Russ and wife Judy of Chico, Jay and wife Nancy of San Mateo and daughter Karla Dreiss and husband Ray of Chico.

Beans was born in his family's home in Capay, CA on April 4, 1917 to Cinto and Olympia Alberico. He had five siblings, Eda Schmidt (deceased) Aldo Alberico (deceased), Raymo Alberico (deceased), Arthur Alberico of Orland and Vivian Shahoian of Roseville.

He married the love of his life, Lily Emma Hinz on July 7, 1940.

Beans was raised by a farming family and continued his whole life doing what he loved, raising clover, barley and in the past few years, almonds were planted on the cherished homestead in Artois.

He enjoyed all the family outings of fishing, camping and rock picking for abalone in Fort Bragg along with the big dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He loved the community functions to visit with all the neighbors and friends and also loved to dance.

He traveled with family and friends throughout the United States.

Beans was honored with eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who so enjoyed coming to Grandpa and Grandma's ranch, which has been in the family for over 100 years, riding the harvesters and tractors and playing games.

Lily and Beans moved to an assisted living facility in Chico in 2010. They were cared for and loved by all the wonderful people of Prestige and of Butte Home Health and Hospice. The family sends many thanks for the help, guidance and peace of mind they provided in the past few years to their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who was a strong, hardworking and caring family man. He will always be missed and loved. May the clover forever grow tall and the almonds forever bloom brightly in memory of our adored Dad, Beans.
