Birth: Apr. 18, 1925, Croatia
Death: Jul. 13, 2005
Rancho Bernardo
San Diego County
California, USA

Rose Abjanic, born on April 18, 1925, of Rancho Bernardo will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

She will be remembered for her unending love, faith, devotion and wisdom as a wife, mother and grandmother.

Rose passed away on July 13, 2005 after a battle with cancer.

She was 80 years old. Rose grew up in Sarajevo, Bosnia, then moved to Vinkovci, Croatia where she attended high school. Her happy youth was interrupted by the tragic events of WWII during which she lost her mother, brother and sister.

After the war, she and her father settled in Graz, Austria where she attended the University of Graz to study medicine.

In her compassion for the sick, Rose often visited the local hospital taking her homemade baked goods. On one such visit she met Ted, also from Croatia.

In 1951, they got married, emigrated to the United States and settled in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1994, they moved to Rancho Bernardo, CA to be near their children and grandchildren. Rose leaves a lasting legacy of a remarkable woman. For her, no sacrifice was too great if it helped her family, a person in need, a neighbor or a friend. She was incredibly talented and known for her tasty home cooked meals, cakes and cookies.

She loved to sew clothes and knit afghans. Rose had a strong faith in the Lord and lived her life serving others. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Rose is survived by her son, John Abjanic; daughter-in-law, Helen Abjanic; daughter, Maria Krasovic; son-in-law, Charles Krasovic and grandchildren, Caitlin and Michael Krasovic.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, July 18, 2005 at San Rafael Catholic Church, 17252 Bernardo Center Dr. San Diego, CA 92128 with a Visitation at 11 a.m., a Mass at 12 noon followed by a recepiton lunch at the church hall at 1 p.m.
