James Ira Ash, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Windsor Gardens in Salinas. He was born on October 29, 1918 in Santa Cruz, CA.
Mr. Ash was a former owner of Fred Ash & Sons Saw Mill Co., Logging Co., Water Well Drilling Co., Oil Well Drilling Co. and also former Co-Owner of A & S Metals.
He served in the US Army during WWII.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Castroville and an avid 49er fan and season ticket holder for 50 years. He enjoyed playing Keno and gardening.
Preceded in death by his wives, Bella Ash in 1975 and Edwina Ash in 1993

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 1:00pm- 5:00pm and 7:00pm -9:00pm at the Struve and Laporte Chapel- 41 West San Luis Street Salinas, CA 93901.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 10:00am in the Struve and Laporte Chapel.
Burial will follow at Castroville District Cemetery.
