Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Barnard, widow of the late Fred B Barnard, were held at the Reardan Presbyterian church on Thursday, May 2 at 3 p.m.

Julia Beall was born near Green City, Missouri, August 26, 1872, and came with her parents at an early age to the territory of South Dakota where she spent her childhood and early womanhood.

She married Mr. Barnard March 15, 1893 at Ethan, South Dakota.

They farmed near Ethan and later near Mt Vernon, S Dakota, until they moved with their family to a farm north of Reardan in March 1904. Here they farmed until 1930 when they moved to Reardan.

Mr Barnard passed away July 13, 1956. Mrs Barnard continued living in Reardan until August 1959 when she retired to a nursing home in Wilbur where she passed away April 3090, 1963.

She was an active member and staunch worker in the Reardan Presbyterian church until poor health forced her to lead a more inactive life.

Mrs. Barnard is survived by one son, Burton L. of Reardan, two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Ina) Landreth, Espanola; Mrs. Vance (Gladys) Davidson, Wilbur; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one sister, two brothers; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Rev Raymond W Moody officiated. Mrs. Dolores Mahoney was organist and Mrs. Wiley Hayden of Wilbur sang. Six grandsons: Berne Barnard, Quintin Landreth, Robert Davidson, Phillip Krause, Fred Merrill and Robert Zwainz were pall bearers.

Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery.

Robertson Funeral Home of Wilbur were entrusted with her last rites.
