HICKORY, Ky. -- Eugene Alexander, 73, of Hickory, the Folsomdale community, died at 6:45 a.m. on Friday at his home. Mr. Alexander, a veteran of World War II, was a retired installer for West Kentucky Rural Telephone Co-Op and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Mays Alexander; one son, Larry Alexander of Lone Oak; two brothers, Ernest Alexander of Chicago and Roscoe Alexander of Lone Oak; seven sisters, Etna Bloomingburg, Gladys Rose, Desi Samsil, Elizabeth Wurth and Dorothy Herndon of Lone Oak and Essie Wyatt and Eva Ayers of Folsomdale; and two granddaughters. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Alfred and Laura Warner Alexander.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. The Rev. Wayne Berry will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:00 p.m. today.
