Woman's Rites Set
ADAMS - The funeral for Mrs. Rena M. Acker, 47, wife of Francis W. Acker, 34 N. Park St., will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, with Rev. Norman Poupore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Rodman.
Mrs. Acker died Thursday afternoon in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, following a long illness.
Friends may call at the Piddock Funeral Home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Besides her husband, a local barber, she is survived by a daughter, Mary, at home, and four sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Gladys) Whaley, Fernwood, Mrs. Harold (Arietta) Tibbles, Adams, Mrs. Monica Laney and Miss Patricia Prouty, Adams Center.
Born July 28, 1922 in the Town of Pinckney, a daughter of Leon H. and Bertha Babbitt Prouty, she attended local schools and was married to Francis Acker Nov. 22, 1943 in St. Cecilia's Church by Rev. T. Walter Cleary. The couple had lived in Adams since their marriage.
She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
